Over the past few months, minimalism as a genre has truly been growing on me after listening to countless hours of Joris Voorn, Claude Van Stroke, Umek, Loco Dice and many others during those late night after hour parties. So when a good friend from home put me up on DJ Sumner, his Minimalism Is My Medicine set caught my eye instantly. From start to finish this mix this filled with the pulsating baselines and addictive rhythms that we all love about minimalism and tech house. And unlike most DJ’s, this set is quite versatile (track list included). Definitely a must download if you’re an EDM fan! But don’t think Sumner is only talented in the tech house/mininal area; take one look at his SoundCloud and you’ll see he plays some incredible and eclectic sets all filled with BANGERS! Be sure to check out his Facebook and Twitter pages for more info and his SoundCloud for some other music!

I saw Sumner spin at Ultrabar in DC last month and he had all of the party people in the club going crazy. He has an uncanny ability to read the crowd and harness the energy in a room – and I’m so glad he’s finally getting some much deserved exposure. This mix is a testament to versatility and goes to show you there is no sound out of his reach.
Cheers!
DJ Sumner is legit. I’ve seen him in DC twice and he killed it each time. My buddy saw him out in Seattle and said he had the place rocking. Great to see more people are starting to pick up on his stuff

Hands down my favorite assortment of minimalist artists out there. The transitions are seamless and the urge to take off your clothes at the height of the beats is undeniable. dj.sumner.kills.us.softly and in the best way possible.
