Found this funky Penguin Prison gem on the radio last week! Hopefully it finds you in a good mood too. I hope I’m not “fucking with their money” by posting this but it looks like Penguin Prison released it for free anyways…maybe the duo is fucking with their own money then huh? You can buy their brand new album on iTunes and Amazon so get down with it; below I’ve included a fine remix of this track as well. Spread the Jams by sending these songs to a friend!
Deadmau5 is alive and not pranking Skrillex this time. Joel Zimmerman released this joint on his Soundcloud four days ago, but you can grab it here. Notice how he flows so smoothly into awesomeness during the last minute. Get this new eight minute power bomb from our favorite electronic-Deadhead now!
No cool live-mashup clip from our French native this time, I just used a pic from the ‘Pop-Culture‘ video to remind you of what he’s responsible for. You might have even heard Zedd drop this jam at EDC Vegas 2011 if you were at the Mecca of EDM last year. This Madeon mashup is very clean, and I guarantee everyone who loves a little Wolfgang in their life will enjoy this tidy collaboration.
Whitney Houston was one of the greatest female singers and performers of our time. She will always be remembered even after her recent death. To honor her, we dug up this little tune to usher that voice into the forefront of Jamtronica. This feel-good house banger should be played and sung out loud at the highest possible volume. Thank you to Van Hooft & Forever Kid, the two who created this “Unofficial Remix.”
Whitney Houston lived legendarily, hit the jump for proof…
Jammers, Pretty Lights just dropped his new single and official music video. The video was created by himself and his girlfriend, Krystle Blackburn (who is PLM’s Creative Director). She say’s it’s a ”new style of music video, that expresses and channels emotions in a beautiful collage of shots that capture little moments in people’s lives, from the joyous, to the innocent, to the desperate.”
This is what Derek himself had to say, “…the creation of this track and video is also an artistic explanation as to why I chose the name ‘Pretty Lights’ for my musical project. It embodies the essence of the artistic eye and the idea that almost any moment, anywhere, can be a moment of inspiration and beauty.”
Sounduo is pleased to announce the release of their debut album, “Departures,” on Made In Glitch music. I had the honor of opening for them last year in Orlando thanks to the dudes at Xplosive Entertainment and it was a blast…
Equally melodic and heavy, this deep collection of 8 tracks showcases their progression as producers and musicians, as well as the band’s unique take on electronic dub-hop in a studio production format. It’s everything you can expect from Sounduo, from future dub to glitched funkiness, heavy beats and a healthy amount of bass.
‘Depatures’, being released under Made in Glitch alongside bass pioneers like Bass Science, Gladkill, NastyNasty and other growing artists, reflects Sounduo’s growing respect among bass communities across the country. While the album certainly features some huge bass drops, the band aims for creating a futuristic glowing dub-atmosphere inside their tracks.
You must hear the latest collection of jams that have been released by Steve Aoki, Terravita, Beats Antique, ill Gates, The Glitch Mob, and Bassnectar himself. Please enjoy each jam loudly. You may recognize some of the tracks from Nectar’s Florida tour – brings back great recent memories.
With tracks from GlitchDick, NEUS, Adventure Club, Excision, Downlink, Ajapai, Cazzette, Xilent, and Noisia you might want to dive deep into this week’s edition of the Wompday. Enjoy! Now get in and get to steppin…
Oh snap, the new Kaskade and Skrillex combo. These respective house and dubstep avant-garde artists have come together to make one hell of a audio mixture. Ryan Raddon and Sonny Moore’s computers have officially mated and created an offspring. Please share with a friend because a friend shared this with me. Thanks Plank.
TBMA, Zeds Dead, Celldweller, Excision, Downlink, Figure, Adventure Club, Feed Me, Helicopter Showdown, and IB…let that marinate. This is a special Wompday equipped with some sick new dub that will get you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside for the upcoming holiday season. As an added bonus I’ve included Archnemesis’s latest album People’s Radio…it’s so funky fresh. I’m very excited to let these jams out of their cages. Now get to steppin!!!
Everyone should remember the infamous day of Pearl Harbor. 70 years ago, today, the Japanese sunk the USS Arizona which initiated America’s entry into World War II. Was it provoked by the US though by cutting off their oil? Or is that too heady for this blog right now? Enjoy.
DJ Ickarus, played by Paul Kalkbrenner, is the main character in this 2008 movie who tours all over the world playing at various clubs along side his manager/girlfriend. However, the night of their big album release, Ickarus is admitted to a psych-ward after he overdoses at a gig.
Thank you to Mark S., my current European music influence. This tech-house soundtrack was actually created by the multi-talented actor himself, Paul Kalkbrenner. It’s slow moving, melodic, tech music that is filling a void for relaxing tunes which have a basic premise. Get his album here and then go check out the movie if you haven’t already!! Track list after the jump.
Last year over 7,000 people came out to Bear Creek and we couldn’t be happier to cover such a special festival this weekend. The Spirit of the Suwannee Park has become a second home to music lovers, hosting festivals ranging from the Allman Brothers’ Wanee Fest to more intimate events like Springfest and Magnolia Fest. This year definitely proves to be a good one as the Trey Anastasio Band is headlining along with Beats Antique playing twice, Break Science, Big Gigantic, Dumpstaphunk, the New Mastersounds, Medeski Scofield, Martin & Wood, Soulive, the Funky Meters, Galactic, Zach Deputy, Zoogma, and more!
This Fall Bear Creek will also be sporting a brand new stage: The Silent Disco Stage, which will keep the party going til nearly 5am each night. The festival organizers have pledged to provide a thousand pairs of headphones for a total of 1,000 people at the Music Hall. Ideal for late night, non-disturbing dance sessions…some of the names in the Silent Disco include: Gramatik, Michal Menert, Freekbass, Gypsyphonic Disko, Schemeans, KRAZ, Sub Swara, Sir Charles, Wick-It the Instigator, Wyllys, DJ Craig Heneveld, and Team Jaguar.
Originally from Stockholm and currently residing in London, Johan (better known as Blende) has been described as one of the most exciting new acts in the electo house scene. He has aspirations of coming back to the US to play some major shows soon, but in the meantime he has pushed his boundaries as a remixer, [...]
While rising talent Pierce Fulton isn’t attending class, there’s a good chance he’s probably in the studio recording his next release or touring the nation— who else can say that?! Having just been announced on the second phase of Ultra Music Festival, Pierce has quite the upcoming lineup with SnowBall 2012 and Electro Beach in Puerto [...]
After effectively dominating 2011, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano have their sights set high for 2012. As we can all recall, their smash hit ‘Lethal Industry’ was a club favorite along with their bootlegs and extensive remix collection. Just recently, the duo put a big room, electro spin on Ferry Corsten’s latest hit, Ain’t No [...]
I first stumbled across Ulrik and Ketil, the two creative minds behind Lemâitre, last summer completely by accident. I know what you’re thinking (oh cool story, Hansel), but something struck me when I first heard these two from Oslo, Norway months ago. A combination of unique, original vocals with new age synth and creativity. I have [...]
Very pleased to bring you our conversation with the one and only - The Magician. And what better day to post our interview than the release of his now iconic, monthly ‘Magic Tape’ – today marks the 19th straight month he has released an hour-long improv set of his favorite tracks, all the while traveling the [...]
WOW! What does Dirty South do when everyone starts to get bored of that overused big room, progressive sound? He adds the FATTEST electro bass line with the most resounding synths. Miike Snow’s latest single ‘Devil’s Work’ serves as the canvas for Dragan‘s most recent production of epic proportions. I nearly spit my breakfast out when [...]
Aired at 3 AM last night, many fans may have missed Arty‘s BBC 1 Essential Mix last night. If you’re a first time listener of Arty or a close friend of his, you don’t want to miss this mix. He’s a huge talent coming out of Russia and his music has already gained the support of Armin [...]

P-P-Pete Tong. BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix here for you PB&Jammers. An amazing 2 hour long mix from AN21 and Max Vangeli. You know ‘em. They’ve opened for Swedish House Mafia too many times and they toured with AN21′s older brother Steve Angello of SHM on the Size Matters Tour (still to date, one of [...]
This one’s from Creamfields back in August of this year but I just came across it a few days ago and I’ve been kicking myself for that ever since. I’ve seen Jack Beats twice now at Hard Haunted Mansion in 2010 and again at Coachella earlier this year and they always throw down a festival [...]
