Last night Orlando witnessed the famed DJ Craze take over control downtown at Tier. The 35 year old DJ from Nicaragua is still one of the most refreshing, unique and entertaining performers to see live. In addition, the Slow Roast Records artist and Native-instruments master also happens to be the only solo DJ in history to claim the DMC World DJ Championships trophy three years in a row (’98-2000). Craze was welcomed back to Orlando last night at the wonderful Tier Nightclub where he got the party started playing for a packed house. Hit the jump for the run down on Craze’s show along with pictures courtesy of our friend Hey Mr. Riot and more info on Tier’s big weekend!
Almost immediately after we walked into Tier, Craze took the reigns and began mixing. From the very start, his unreal scratching abilities and choppy dance beats wobbled the dance floor into compliance. As it’s almost guaranteed at this point, events at Tier really are on another level and it’s shown not just by the club’s decoration and lighting, but the artists as well. In and out of hard-hitting electro anthems, miami bass and some of the best rap out there, Craze’s ability to mix (flawlessly) so many different types of genres is ridiculous and something so different from most of the other EDM acts that have come into town. Highlights from the night include Craze making ‘The Big Bad Wolf’ seem cool, a CO2 gun war during Doctor P’s ‘Tetris’ which was then mixed into some feel-good dubstep, followed by Wobble Dee Wobbly Dee/Rack City (Orlando favorites which I surprisingly liked) and way too many other hard electro tracks that submissed the packed club and got things pretty loose in there. By the end of the night, the level of rowdiness and overall marathon-like drinking had taken its toll on almost everyone there. Last night was sure to set the bar high for not only Friday Nights at Tier, but Friday Nights in general. Big thanks to our boy Nick Law and the rest of the Tier crew!

But it doesn’t stop here…
Cedric Gervais is live at Tier TONIGHT! The French phoneme has been added to Tier’s already impressive DJ Schedule and will be absolutely raging tonight at Orlando’s most exclusive nightclub. Cedric is the man behind the infamous SH!T SHOW parties @ LIV in Miami, where he first made a name for himself. 2011 was a massive year for Cedric Gervais who played countless sold out shows at some of the best clubs in the world and still found the time to push out productions that were supported by many of the biggest names in the business (Pete Tong for one). Coming off an epic performance last night at Lavo in New York City, Cedric is warmed up and ready to take things up a notch, hope to see everyone out there!
