When Tiesto comes within a 50 mile radius of your location to play, as an EDM fan and all around party enthusiast you do whatever you can to make it there! Well, that is, unless you’re me with an overbearing boss and a severe lack of sick days. But thankfully, one of our buddies Steve was able to get out to Pacha NYC for this EPIC night and lived to tell the story…
On the night of November 30th 2011, NYC rolled out the red carpets for the infamous Dutch DJ/Producer, Tiesto. This randomly perfect Wednesday night, was the start to Pacha NYC’s 6 Year Anniversary: an event comprised of 7 MASSIVE shows, as world renowned DJ’s such as Hardwell, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Fedde Le Grande and others, take over the wheels of steel throughout December. As the crowd warmed up to Vancouver native Felix Cartal, the intensity
quickly built for what was to be an epic night. His powerful multi-dynamic electronic sound and remixes prepped the club for a ridiculous night full of high-quality beats.

As Cartal’s set was coming to a close, the music was slowly being to be drowned out by the overbearing chants of “TI-ES-TO…TI-ES-TO”. Out of nowhere the man, the myth, and the legend himself arrived in the booth! And with the loud accolades and whistling in his background, Tiesto dropped his instantly classic collaboration with Hardwell, ‘Zero 76′ Not only is this track considered a ‘fan favorite’, it jump started the entire night! As the lights started flashing and the club filled with smoke, the legendary Pacha air horn let everybody know that the madness had begun. With his signature ‘Club Life’ visuals covering all of the flat screens screens, bright colors, and designs everywhere, he proceeded to drop many of our favorite tunes.
Throughout the night, some of the major tracks were Ingrosso & Alesso’s ‘Calling’ the chainsaw madness of R3hab and Swanky Tunes ‘Sending My Love’ Tim Berg’s EDM hits, ‘Fade to Darkness” and “Levels” and MANY more! He even made sure to play his highly acclaimed remix to Coldplay’s ‘Paradise’ Towards the end of the night, the Dutch phenom threw in some big room tracks, like Afrojack & Shermanology’s ‘Can’t Stop Me Now’, and Thomas Gold’s remix of Adele’s ‘Set Fire to the Rain’. He even went so far to play Filterheadz’ remix of Delirium’s ‘Silence’.
As the overpopulated dance floor sensed the end was near, Tiesto dropped his summer hit ‘Maximal Crazy’ and closed the night with greatest possible vibe! The ‘TIESTO’ chants carried on long after he stepped off, as his jaw dropping performance had the crowd both satisfied AND wanting more. His energy electrified the entire mass and the night was one that will never be forgotten! I guess that’s why he’s one of the best though, right?
