[Download] Emeron & Fox – Principles

Posted in Tracks by on Dec 1, 2012

Emeron & Fox had been on my watch list since earlier this year when fellow production mates Follow Me, included them in their Exclusive Mix for us. The track itself, Nightmares, immediately caught my attention and nestled a cozy, memorable place in my head with such a hypnotic, haunting and sweet melody. Little did we know (and rightfully so), the single turned to quite the remix EP and...

Every DJ, performer and their mom are coming out with a mix for Memorial Day. Well I’m here to set the record straight and give you one more goddamn mix to jam on this weekend, courtesy of The Knocks. RAC ft. Penguin Prison – Hollywood (The Magician Remix)

Posted in Uncategorized by on May 24, 2012

Coming fresh off the release of his Magic Tape 23 just a couple days ago, The Magician spreads his synthed-out disco love over RAC’s first single, “Hollywood”. I’m dancing around my room already to this one and feeling a little nostalgic toward that synth-heavy 80s sound. I give a whole-hearted salute to The Magician for transforming this acoustic RAC track into...

Shazam – Mid Week Mix For Modular

Posted in Uncategorized by on Apr 25, 2012

One of my absolute favorite producers to follow, Shazam, put together a special minimal, synth/funk house mix for Modular People today. Otherwise known as Cameron Parkin, I have a lot of respect for this young Australian producer. He has a very unique and experimental approach to his productions and his Luckier (Original Mix) and remix of Miami Horror’s “Sometimes” are...

Helter Skelter – Shapeshifters

Posted in Uncategorized by on Mar 30, 2011

While this isn’t the newest song on the market, it is fairly unknown and needs to be more broadly heard.  The Shapeshifters are a house production duo based out of London and on the Defected Records label.  This is a very bouncy, synth-heavy beat.  On top of this, the lyrics bump right along to the high synths, and you can’t help but to goofily bounce your head along to it.  The...

Firdog Ft. Daniel Laszlo – It’s the New Music Age (Neon Stereo Remix)

Posted in Uncategorized by on Mar 23, 2011

Neon Stereo, heralding from down under with some wild beats.  He does not really have a definitive sound like many other dj’s of this era; i.e. Skrillex’ synthed voice, Afrojack’s High Synth, just to name the first two that came to mind.  However, I like quite a bit of everything he’s got going on.  Recently he has taken on a heavy dubstep influence.  Check his dubby...
