Who remembers Cherokee‘s daft punk remix, circa November 2011? A seminal landmark in their production resumé; that one remix (in the bonus section below) pushed them into an international spotlight overnight. The attention was well-deserved and on what better platform than improving upon a daft punk classic?
They’ve been keeping busy, playing shows all over France while putting out a couple of relevant tracks before gearing up for American Spirit – their first, feature length EP. I’ve thoroughly listened to each of the four tracks since they publicly uploaded the tracks yesterday and it’s been a delightful crossover of thumping French electro and chillingly smooth French touch. Take the club vibes of Canblaster, the stadium-filling pound of Justice, and the meticulously selected samples of Breakbot — and you have American Spirit.
