Over here at the Jam House, we’re kicking off a new weekly series entitled the PB&Jamwich which will be a weekly (or bi-weekly) DJ essential mix that highlights some of the best EDM out there. We’ve begun recruiting some phenomenal local talents to display their talents in a 45 min – 1 hour set of whatever genre (or multiple genres) of their choosing aka open format. We figured this would be a great way for our readers to delve into the music and raise awareness of great upcoming talents besides (the phenomenal) Skrillex, Diplo and Afrojack. Before you check out the mix, be sure to check out the questions we got to ask Dave when he was recording this mix.

What inspired you to first start DJing/producing: I started to “dj” off my laptop at my fraternity house parties and was able to train my ears through simple programs like VDJ. My curiousity, combined with my friends support, led me to want to pursue djing first, and producing eventually. So here I am today!

What is the craziest thing that’s happened at a gig: I had the opportunity to dj a swinger party at Pachita/ Pacha one time. I wasn’t really sure how much they would embrace the “swinger” aspect of it until after my set was over. I walked over to the VIP section to thank my promoter for the opportunity and realized that there was a lot sexual “action” going on around me. And by action…I’ll let you figure that out yourselves.

For our very first edition, Dave K. has stepped up to the plate and knocked this 45 minute set out of the park! From start to finish, Dave blends several sub genres of EDM together seamlessly. His progressive roots coupled with his love for tech house give the mix an amazing beginning, and as he slides into some massive big-room tunes towards the middle and end . Featuring tunes from Deniz Koyu, Tristan Garner, Hard Rock Sofa, Dirty South and even Tocadiso, Dave K. flexes his versatility for the first weekly PB&Jamwich.
